Luxury Bed & Breakfast Accommodation
A beautifully preserved and restored period Georgian mansion set in beautiful rolling countryside at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains in west Co. Offaly. Lissanerin House features four guest bedrooms, each one is really a suite rather than a standard bedroom that one would expect. And each one comes with a luxurious en-suite bathroom - please see the Bedroom Suites page for more details.
Deborah and Tom Standish assure you of a warm welcome to their family home where guests can enjoy the luxury of a bygone era, yet enjoy all the modern comforts and facilities you would would expect from top class Country House accommodation.
Lissanerin Country House is located close to Leap Castle at the western side of the Slieve Bloom Mountains, 10 Km from Roscrea and 15 Km from Birr, in Co. Offaly, close to the border with Co. Tipperary. See the Contact Us page for detailed directions/location.
Thanks to its central location in the heart of Ireland, Lissanerin House is an ideal base for exploring the midlands. From its monastic heritage (Clonmacnoise and nearby Saor Kieran being but two examples), numerous golf courses, castles and the River Shannon, to the largely undiscovered Slieve Bloom Mountains, the midlands of Ireland offer visitors the oppertunity to experience the 'Real' Ireland and meet its people. Here the pace of life is slower, unlike the usual tourist traps on the west coast. The roads are not clogged with coaches and hire cars and the local people show a genuine interest in visiting tourists.
Lissanerin Country House also makes an ideal break in your itinerary if you are looking to break you journey when travelling from Dublin to the west and south west coasts. And the two lovely heritage towns of Birr and Roscrea are on your doorstep to explore.
